How We Rank Window Companies in Dubai

Each company in the Dubai ranking gets a score from 0 to 10 built from four criteria: Google Maps reviews (38.9%), price transparency (22.2%), workmanship warranty (22.2%) and years in business (16.7%). Every figure comes from an open source, and we keep the page and a quote behind it. The calculation rules are shared by all cities on the site; only the data sources are local. All the firms we studied in Dubai are listed A to Z on the companies page.

Reviews

We combine review counts and average the star ratings across all of a company's Google Maps listings. The result is then smoothed, so that a few perfect scores cannot outweigh hundreds of reviews:

R* = (v × R + m × C) / (v + m)

R is the company's average, v its number of reviews, C the average for the Dubai market and m = 50. A smoothed 3.0 earns 0 points, 5.0 earns 10, with a straight line in between.

Price transparency

10 points: a price list or calculator on one page of the website, with at least five different prices for the main services and a note on what the price includes. 5 points: individual "from" prices, or a list without that note. 0 points: no prices on the website.

Warranty

We count the standard free warranty on installation or repair work. Warranties on glass, coatings, profiles or hardware belong to the product and are not counted. If a homepage banner and the written terms disagree, the terms apply. Points equal the warranty in months divided by the top of the scale, times ten. The top of the scale is the 90th percentile of warranty periods in Dubai, currently 120 months.

Years in business

The founding year is taken from the company's website, with the page and quote saved, or from details the company has confirmed to our editors. Each year of operation earns one point, up to ten. Without a confirmed year, this criterion scores 0.

Replies to reviews

In Saint Petersburg we also score how many negative reviews received a reply over the past year. In Dubai this is not possible: Google Maps hides owner replies from visitors who are not signed in. The weight of that criterion is shared among the other four in proportion, which produces the weights above.

Who gets a place

  • A company is ranked once at least 70% of the criteria weight has been checked.
  • A criterion with no open data counts as 0, and the total is still divided by the full weight.
  • Places 1 to 15 go first to companies with data on every criterion.
  • A company whose website goes offline is removed from the ranking.

Updates and right of reply

The ranking is updated as new data appear, and the date of the data is shown on the page. A company that disagrees with its score can send a supporting document to vseprooknaspb@gmail.com. Its objection is published word for word next to the entry, and new evidence leads to a recalculation marked as such.
